Mrs. Wendell
I am so glad to be your child's teacher this year! This is my 7th year teaching 5th grade at Forest Trail. I feel so blessed to go to work every day and be surrounded by such an amazing, gracious, talented, supportive and kind community of students, colleagues and parents. This place is truly special, and I'm proud to call it my home away from home!
I grew up in Plano and moved to Austin in 1995 with a brief stop in southern California in between. I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in finance and economics. My first career was as a financial planner and account executive for an investment firm. I liked my job but never felt the passion for it that I feel for teaching and working with young people. I look forward to coming to work every day.
I've been married to my husband, Phil, for 24 years and we are proud parents of boy/girl twins who are Forest Trail alumni, Westlake graduates and are currently juniors at the University of Texas and Texas A&M University. We've been Longhorn fans for years but have finally learned to say "Gig 'em" and mean it, too! We also share our home with a sweet and cuddly dog who thinks I exist solely to be her personal pillow.
When I'm not at school, I love to: spend time with my family, play games, read, bake, hike in national parks, relax on the beach, watch football or basketball games and cheer on the Chaps, Longhorns, Aggies and Vikings!
I'm so excited to have Mrs. Garcia as my teaching partner this year. We are going to have a great year and can't wait to spend it with you!

Mrs. Garcia
I am looking forward to a great year! I have been teaching in EISD since 2013. I did my student teaching at Valley View. Mid way through my student teaching I got hired as a teaching assistant and finished the 2013-2014 school year at Valley View. I have been a behavior support teacher and collaborative teacher. This is my 4th year as a collaborative teacher.
I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. I graduated from Saint Edwards University with my BA in all level special education. I am also certified to teach EC-6 General education as well as English as a Second Language. I have an amazing husband, daughter, and a sweet boy. I love spending time with my family and my two dogs Greyson and Goliath.
